Aubrey Plaza breaks bad news about Kevin after just one season

Aubrey Plaza is disheartened, and the reason is Amazon's latest decision on her animated comedy series Kevin.

The reason is that the streamer has pulled the plug on the season just after season one.

The actress expressed her disappointment on Instagram, writing, “Amazon Prime is not picking up ‘Kevin’ for another season."

“Very disappointing since we were just getting going. I want to say thank you to all the fans that watched our show and all of the incredible cast and crew that worked so hard to make this dream come alive.”

While comparing Kevin to Parks and Recreation, Plaza said the latter series also faced weak ratings, but network executives put their trust in its potential.

“I remember the early days of ‘Parks & Rec’ when we all thought we would be cancelled because our ratings weren’t great. Our numbers,” she said.

“But we had some special humans over at NBC that believed in the show and let us grow and let audiences fall in love with our characters."

She went on, "I was hoping for this for 'Kevin', but sadly we are living in a different time in our industry. I hope the machines won’t ruin everything."

Capping off her emotional post, Plaza said, "Maybe Kevin will find a new owner someday. Love you all very much. Meow.”

Kevin's logline read, "A neurotic tuxedo cat named Kevin (voiced by Jason Schwartzman) who lands in an Astoria, Queens, animal shelter after his owners break up. There, he navigates life with a group of misfit animals."
