Toy Story 5 is ruling the box office, with the latest animated franchise offering raking in a whopping $160 million on its opening weekend.

Disney and Pixar movie easily surpassed the Super Mario Galaxy movie, which had – before Toy Story 5 – been dominating the 2026 releases.

Not stopping there, the latest film broke the record of its own franchise, beating Toy Story 4's domestic debut.

In addition to the domestic buzz, overseas audiences have also flocked to cinemas to watch Toy Story 5, boosting the international debut to $152 million.

Put together, the haul of the new film so far is $312 million.

Not to mention, Taylor Swift has also contributed her share to the film's success by lending her voice to the soundtrack.

The track is titled I Knew It, I Knew You.

But the story of Swift coming on board to create a track for Toy Story 5 is unique.

Initially, the pop icon was not interested in creating an original track for the film.

But Jessica Choi, a Pixar producer, wrote Swift a letter explaining the necessity of her working on the project.
