Sarah Sherman recalled a hilarious encounter with Paul McCartney after the music legend mistook her signature mullet for a wig on the set of Saturday Night Live

The 33-year-old comedian looked back at the memorable encounter with McCartney during the 5th Annual Las Culturistas Culture Awards in Los Angeles and revealed that at the time her mullet hairstyle resembled the one McCartney wore during his Wings era.

And when the Beatles legend saw it as the musical guest for the season 51 finale of SNL, he decided to inspect her hairstyle in person.

"So, basically I was doing a bit talking about how I have his mullet from his Wings era," Sherman looked back. "And so he came up to me after the show and he pulled up my mullet and he was like, 'Is it real or is it a wig?' "

"And I said, 'It's real, Paul,' " Sherman recalled. "And then, I was like, 'Paul McCartney, I love you, you're amazing. Like, McCartney II is my favorite album ever, and 'Temporary Secretary' is my favorite song.' And then I was like, 'I'm sorry I'm complimenting you so much.' And he said, 'I love adulation. Adulate me. Adulate me.' "

"Yeah, it was awesome. It was awesome," she added.

Sherman previously recalled the incident in a past episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and host Kimmel joked at the time, "I think it's very rare that somebody gets their mullet pulled by a Beatle."

Sherman replied, "And I liked it!"

"Honey, he can do whatever he wants to me," she later quipped.
