How Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson spark romance in Netflix's 'Voicemails for Isabelle'
Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson turn years of friendship into on-screen magic
Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson have opened up about the unexpected way they strengthened their on-screen connection while filming Netflix's new romantic comedy, Voicemails for Isabelle.
In an interview with People Magazine, the duo revealed that yoga played a key role in helping them develop chemistry throughout the movie.
While the pair had known each other for years through mutual friends and shared circles in Los Angeles, the Netflix movie marked their first time working together.
Robinson said, "There's been a handful of things that we were either, I was going to do and you had to drop out, or you were in and I was going to [do something else]."
"So it's been many years [of] wanting to work together, so it's been just an absolute joy to have the opportunity to do it, and I'm really grateful," he added.
About their bond, he said, "It was from the jump Zoey was just really welcoming and warm and invited me to go to yoga class, and we took some yoga classes, and it was just really easy."
"Shoutout Modo Yoga," Deutch noted.
She went on to add, "Because we've known each other a long time and we've seen each other through different periods of our lives, and there is that history and time, it definitely lends toward in favor of there being chemistry and a built-in relationship, so I think it's hard to create that."
Voicemails for Isabelle starring Nick Robinson and Zoey Deutch was released on Netflix on June 19.
