Nancy Guthrie abduction has taken a surprising development, after a volunteer search group in Mexico reportedly announced that they received a confidential tip that she was buried around the border in an unmarked grave.

The head of Buscando Corazones Nogales clarified that the group mainly received the tip on Wednesday regarding Guthrie, who was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home located more than 70 miles north of the border city of Nogales.

Meanwhile, the group conducted a preliminary inquiry provided by the tipster, where they found 25 unmarked graves during the operation, but the search for Guthrie came up empty.

It is pertinent to mention that the area known as “Mariposa” is located northwest of Nogales; however, the latest search deeper when the group had previously discovered initial graves this year.

In this connection, Ayala Ortiz said: “ We received an anonymous call telling us that Guthrie's remains were in the Mariposa area.”

The Sonora State Commission, involved in this case, is also working efficiently to find missing persons as state officials deploy security forces to keep the workers safe. She vanished from her home on February 1, and the investigation into her disappearance continued till date.

Nancy Guthrie’s case remains unsolved; however, investigators are still waiting on lab results to ensure they identify the correct suspect. 

It is worth noting that the high-profile case investigation is ongoing, but no new leads have come to light.
