Olivia Rodrigo recently got candid and made a spine-chilling claim about her hearing.

The 23-year-old American singer appeared on Chloe Burrows and Tyler West’s show KISS FM UK on the Wednesday, June 10 episode to promote her upcoming album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.

While conversing about her album, West laughingly asked her, “What is actually wrong with you?” in reference to her new song What’s Wrong With Me? from her forthcoming album.

Notably, a question asked in a friendly manner turned into a complete shocker when Rodrigo replied, “There's quite a lot that's wrong with me. I'm actually like, 60% deaf in my left ear. So, if you were to sit on this side of me [points to her left] and try to tell me a secret, I couldn't make out what you were saying.”

“So, if you tell me a secret, go right ear,” the Grammy winner said.

“That is amazing because you're a singer and you always have like headphones. That is crazy!” Burrows remarked, voicing her disbelief.

For those unaware, the Scared of My Guitar songstress did not share her hearing troubles for the first time, as she opened up about it for the first time in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in December 2023.

Rodrigo told the outlet, “It's kind of unusual. I am half-deaf in my left ear. I never knew until kindergarten or so when they're doing the tests on all the kids, and they were like, ‘Oh, you're a little hard of hearing.'”

“It's interesting. One of my friends is this great photographer, Petra Collins, and she has really bad vision, and so we always joke that I make music because I have bad hearing, and she takes photos because she has bad vision,” she stated.

It is pertinent to mention that Olivia Rodrigo is set to release her third album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love on June 12, 2026.
