Mitch McConnell’s latest video sparks fresh health concerns

Mystery surrounding the health of former Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell has deepened after the surfacing of a new video.

As per the latest video, McConnell was seen being loaded into an ambulance after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his Capitol Hill home on June, 14.

As published by CNN, the footage was captured by his neighbour who observed the scene at 8:30 am, demonstrating responders wheeling a person on a stretcher into an ambulance.

In the circulating video, one cannot see the clear face of the Kentucky Republican, however, another neighbour claimed to have seen McConnell’s face and confirmed his identity. While being transported to a local hospital, he was not wearing an oxygen mask.

“One of my neighbors is like, ‘Oh yeah, it’s Mitch, I saw his face,’” the anonymous resident told CNN.

Previous audio recording from emergency services mentioned the call in which it was clear that McConnell was found "unconscious" in his home. The call also included references to cardiac arrest and CPR in progress. : Despite the severe nature of the dispatch, the neighbor noted that emergency personnel did not appear panicked and left the scene without using their sirens.

“In a situation where perhaps time is of the essence, there seems to be a little bit more urgency, but there was no urgency here,” they said.

For many days, rumours have been making rounds regarding the health of 84-year-old former Senate members as some far-right commentators asserted that McConnell was “left brain dead by his medical episode.”

On the other hand, McConnell’s office has maintained that he was “admitted to the hospital and receiving excellent care, and his health is improving” giving no further details regarding the status of his health.
