Girl left struggling to climb stairs after dog attack in front of screaming toddler sister
The young girl's mum is furious over what the police do to the dog following the incident
In a shocking incident, a Chow Chow mauled a girl in front of her young sister.
Hawwa-Jannat Ibrahim, an 11-year-old girl, had gone out to collect a parcel.
But the Chow Chow, in her neighbourhood, sprang out of the home and charged towards her.
Scared, Ibrahim ran for safety, but the dog was faster.
The Chow Chow made it into the girl's living room and attacked her, sending the house into chaos.
Ibrahim's toddler sister, present in the house, screamed as her elder sister was being mauled in front of her.
The horrific incident took place in Compton Street in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, according to the U.S. Sun.
Sofia Mehrban, the mum-of-Ibrahim, was furious over the incident.
Her daughter has been left with reportedly permanent scars on her inner leg.
She also struggled to climb stairs due to her injuries, forcing her to be off school for two weeks.
But what enraged Mehrban most was that the West Yorkshire Police ultimately handed the Chow Chow back to its owners.
In return, the owners had been instructed to attend a dog training course, raise a sign, and build a baby gate.
"I want it retrained and rehoused. If that’s not an option, then I want it put down," she said.
“Right now, it’s put down or removed from next door."
"My daughters can’t carry on living next door to a dog that’s a danger to everybody, to children and animals.
“Any time there’s a parcel or a letter, he’ll bark and run about," Mehrban continued.
"My daughter can hear that in the house."
“She’s obviously petrified of it. It’s like she’s in prison inside her own home.
“My two-year-old is petrified when my front door or my back door opens; she tells everyone ‘the dog’s going to come in,'" Mehrban concluded.
