JD Vance lifts lid on 'terrible sorrow' behind wife Usha's fourth pregnancy
JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, announced their fourth pregnancy in January of this year
JD Vance recently reflected on how the death of Charlie Kirk affected his wife Usha Vance's decision regarding their family’s expansion.
For those unaware, the vice president of the United States and his wife, Usha, who have been married since 2014, welcomed three children together: Ewan in June 2017, Vivek in February 2020, and Mirabel in December 2021.
The Wall Street Journal published an excerpt from JD’s upcoming book, Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith, in which he wrote that his wife wanted to have a fourth child after the murder of Kirk.
Notably, the couple is expecting their fourth child, a baby boy, who is due in late July of this year.
He penned, “As my wife held Charlie Kirk's widow on the first day of her terrible sorrow, Erika [Kirk] told Usha between sobs that she regretted having only two kids with Charlie.”
The 41-year-old unveiled, “For years, I'd asked Usha to have another baby, and for years, she told me she was done, especially now that public service had elevated us into the national spotlight.”
“But something changed for Usha, and not long after we buried my friend, she became pregnant with our fourth child, a boy,” JD unveiled.
For those unaware, Kirk, who was a right-wing political commentator, was shot to death at the age of 31 at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025. He married Erika in May 2021 and welcomed two children with her, a daughter in 2022 and a son in 2024.
It is pertinent to mention that JD Vance’s book Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith will be out on June 16, 2026.
