Erika Kirk heckled amid Romania ban rumors
An unidentified person accused Erika Kirk of protecting child abusers during a Turning Point USA event
Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, was accused of protecting pedophiles mid-speech at the Women’s Leadership Summit organized by Turning Point USA.
“It’s important to remember that happiness comes and goes and I pray that you find it,” she said in response when a person from the crowd started screaming allegations against her.
The incident comes amid rumors that Erika Kirk has been banned from Romania for her alleged involvement in child trafficking.
The rumors first surfaced last year that Erika Kirk, now the CEO of Turning Point USA, was involved in child trafficking through a charitable project in Romania, resulting in her being banned from the country.
The rumors resurfaced earlier this year as some social media users tried to link Kirk to Jeffrey Epstein.
According to a report in Snopes, the rumors concerned Erika Kirk’s “Romanian Angels” initiative, part of her nonprofit organization Everyday Heroes Like You.
The initiative’s stated purpose was to support children in Romanian orphanages by sending them letters and gifts and by arranging visits from members of the US military.
There was no evidence the trafficking allegation was true.
