Bombshell reason behind Mika Abdalla, Jake Short's breakup revealed
Mika Abdalla called off her engagement with Jake Short earlier this week
Mika Abdalla has called it quits with Jake Short one year after getting engaged.
"Due to recent interest in Mika’s personal life it would feel remiss to not address that her and Jake are no longer together,” a spokesperson for Mika told Us Weekly on Monday.
“They continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect," added a representative.
This shocking split comes just weeks after the premiere of Off Campus, leaving fans speculating about what led to the breakup.
Now, many fans are speculating that Mika's fame was the reason for the breakup. However, a source is denying this.
When Did Mika and Jake Breakup?
An insider spilled to DeuxMoi that Mika and Jake parted ways “shortly before Off Campus premiered at the beginning of May.”
“They were a really great couple it just didn’t work out and they remain on good terms,” the confidant added.
It is worth mentioning here that Mika and Jake got engaged last year. The pair's engagement was confirmed by Jake's manager in May 2025.
“An awesome day yesterday celebrating the next chapter for my longtime client, Jake Short and his fiance Mika Abdalla. From set to real life – watching your journey has been a joy. Here’s to forever,” Brian Medavoy penned on social media at that time.
