Amy Sedaris 'grieves' working with Jennifer Lopez in 'Office Romance' after two decades?
Jennifer Lopez opens up about collaborating with Jennifer Lopez after more than twenty years in 'Office Romance'
Amy Sedaris recently shed light on Jennifer Lopez’s unknown habit, as she collaborated with her after more than twenty years.
For those unaware, Sedaris and Lopez first appeared together in Maid in Manhattan, a 2002 romantic comedy film based on a story by John Hughes. In the film, Sedaris played Rachel Hoffberg, and Lopez played Marisa Ventura along with the ensemble cast, including Ralph Fiennes, Tyler Posey, Stanley Tucci, Natasha Richardson, Marissa Matrone, and others.
The 65-year-old American actress, comedienne, and writer chatted with PEOPLE magazine at the world premiere of Netflix's forthcoming workplace comedy Office Romance.
She told the outlet that working with the Kiss of the Spider Woman actress in Maid in Manhattan was about listening to her "singing on set a lot" between takes.
“Singers sing. So between takes, she'd be humming or singing,” Sedaris said of her Office Romance co-star.
The Mandalorian star went on to admit that Maid in Manhattan turned out to be a comforting and meaningful project, as she had lost her rabbit and was in extreme grief.
“I really had a great experience on that movie. So, it was a fun movie to work on because I was grieving. You know what I mean?" she quipped.
Now after more than two decades, Sedaris gave a seal of approval to a smaller role in Office Romance mainly because she wanted to collaborate with Lopez once again.
“I like doing things, you get a small part. You get in, you get out, but it was good to see her again. I hear she's really good in the movie. I haven't seen it yet. But the days I was there and she was working, it looked like real and funny and I can't wait to see it,” the Strangers with Candy actress confessed.
It is pertinent to mention that Office Romance is scheduled to be released on Netflix on June 5, 2026.
