Emily Blunt snubs AI for alien scene in 'Disclosure Day'
Emily Blunt explains why she avoids using AI in 'Disclosure Day'
As AI is attempting to encroach its way into Hollywood, there is resistance within the industry.
Emily Blunt is an example.
In her upcoming movie, Disclosure Day, the actress' character was required to speak in a non-human way.
As she explained on Hot Ones, there is a four minute sequence where a mysterious language had to use.
“It’s a four-minute oner that we shot that leads up to that moment where she’s gradually sort of disintegrating.”
Upon facing such a situation, Blunt said there were several ways to do the scene.
"There are various ways you could do it," she noted, before sharing an AI way, which somewhat spooked her.
"You could go the AI route, which I’m a bit terrified of."
So, ditching the AI route, Blunt opted to record organically.
"I thought I could make some really strange sounds," the actress shared.
“I said maybe I could come in and we’ll just do a range of weird sounds. And it’s what we did."
“I did sort of the clicking sounds, I did sort of humming sounds, consonant sounds, breathing strange sounds.”
Then, sound designer, Blunt said, did the music with her eerie voice recordings.
“The sound designer went away and created that weird sound.”
Disclosure, Day, head to cinemas on June 12.
