Rick Ross sends unexpected emotional message to Drake: ‘I don’t want you to lose'
Drake’s and Rick Ross’s ties strained after the latter dropped a diss track
In the rap world, Drake and Rick Ross have a long-standing collaboration. However, it was ruptured when the latter dropped a diss track titled Champagne Moments.
The song came on the height of the Drizzy and Kendrick Lamar rap war in 2024.
But now in his recent interview, Ross appeared to send a surprise message.
Particularly, the timing of the statement is notable. It came just ahead of Iceman, Drake’s hotly anticipated album, is set to release in days.
“Drake, if you’re listening to this, homie, listen to me. My n*****, shine,” he said on Rap Life Review.
“I don’t want to see you lose. No real nigger wants to see you lose. That isn’t what it’s about. This culture, this game, this rap shit, this isn’t what it’s about…”
“Real n*** just wanna see real n**** shine together,” he added.
Ross’s comments come as a surprise in hip-hop circles because just weeks ago, he seemingly put the onus on Drake for patching up strained ties.
“Homie got a lot of issues he has got to address. I’m going to leave it right there,” he said on Thoughts In A Culli.
“Is there any potential of him being a real n***a? He has to decide that. Hopefully, it’s a lot of nigger(s) that were watching and learned from it.”
Meanwhile, Iceman will drop on May 15.
