Why Lamar Odom's family was absent from his wedding to Khloé Kardashian?
Lamar Odom and Khloé Kardashian were married for four years
Lamar Odom reportedly didn't invite his family to his and Khloe Kardashian's wedding.
"He didn't invite none of us, you know. None of us," the retired basketball player's aunt Janean Mercer said in a new Netflix documentary, Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom.
"I said, 'My God, come on now. That's too soon.' I said, 'Things like that don't work out,'" she added.
In the documentary, Lamar's pal alleged that the professional athlete married Khloe to "better his future" because the reality star "knows people" and "has crazy connections."
The 46-year-old athlete confirmed his motive, stating, "I'm watching how she lives and their lifestyle. I'm like, 'This is how I want to live.'"
"I think that was like a power trip for me, 'cause you took the power I had [as an NBA player], and then Kardashian power. When you add 'em…" added Lamar.
For those unversed, Khloe and Lamar exchanged vows in a star-studded Beverly Hills wedding on September 27, 2009. However, the marriage didn't last long, as the two parted ways in 2013.
Lamar's new documentary, Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, is currently available to watch on Netflix.
