Russell Brand’s rape trial date changes and moves up months: report
A new change has been made to Russell Brand’s rape case
The rape trial Russell Brand has been waiting on just got delayed by over four months, and now stands somewhere in October, even though it was initially supposed to take place in June, 2026.
For those unversed with the circumstances and the charges, the whole thing happened back in August, 2025, with over seven charges against him, including rape, indecent assault, and sexual assault. However it did not end there because a few months later in December, London’s Metropolitan Police, brought fresh charges against Brand, in relation to two more women.
According to Southwark Crown Court, Mr Justice Joel Bennathan has also joined these two charges, and has set the trial date for October 12th, and this means the trial can run for almost two months, rather than the original five week plan.
While no new statement has been released, last year Brand addressed the charges head on and said, “I’m now gonna have the opportunity to defend these charges in court, and I’m incredibly grateful for that,” according to Deadline.
Details of the Charges Against Russell Brand:
In terms of details, the charges against him state he allegedly, raped a woman in a hotel room in Bournemouth, and this was back in 1999. Further, more he stands accused of “grabbing a TV worker’s breasts” and “orally raping her” a few years later in 2004.
As for backgrounds, the English comedian and actor, now 50-years-old was once married to Katy Perry before they split in 2012, and has starred in box office hits like Despicable Me.
