Drake walked away from Jay-Z? Debate sparks on social media over 2015 Tidal drama
Fans on the internet believe Jay-Z and Drake do not have a cordial relationship due to the latter decision on Tidal
In 2015, Jay-Z announced his streaming platform called Tidal. However, Drake, one of the co-owners, walked out and signed a deal with Apple Music.
At the time, the exit sparked much drama. But a month later, a beef between Drizzy and Meek Mill sparked after the latter accused him of ghostwriting his songs.
The rap feud was explosive, considered one of the most high-profile in the industry, in which the Canadian rapper dropped back-to-back diss tracks, Charged Up and Back to Back.
Now, fans revisited the episode, with a post's caption referencing Drake's departure from Tidal for Apple Music.
"The exact moment Drake was no longer useful to Jay-Z. A month later, Meek Mill leaked Drake’s reference tracks."
Under the post on Reddit, several fans weigh in.
"And that probably added fuel to the fire," one social media user claimed.
Another added, "Didn’t realise it was this close to the meek beef. This is all starting to make a lot of sense lol. The only confusing part is he kept collaborating with Jay after all this."
"Also makes sense with Kendrick. Jay-Z also runs the Super Bowl halftime shows, and of course Kendrick was given the Super Bowl the same year as the beef. This hatred runs deep," a third alleged.
However, it is pertinent to note that this interpretation is commonly found on the internet, but it's unclear whether it aligns with the confirmed reality.
