Jennifer Garner makes honest admission about raising kids after separation: 'I became mom and dad'
The actress opened up about her co-parenting dynamic with her ex husband Ben Affleck
Jennifer Garner is revealing the major parenting shift after her split from ex-husband Ben Affleck.
The 53-year-old actress, who shares three kids with Ben, opened up about her co-parenting dynamic with Ben in a conversation with Bustle, revealing their divorce has increased their responsibilities as parents.
She admitted that both have to perform the duties of both mother and father for their kids at the same time.
Jennifer said, "I think that I do a bit of both. And I think my kids' dad does too. Especially when your kids grow up in two separate households — I become mom and dad and he becomes mom and dad."
And the main reason is obviously because both parents now live in separate houses, the actress noted.
"You kind of can't help it, right? Because you don't have the benefit of both sides of the yin and yang being in the same house," Jennifer explained.
"And so you have to have a bit of both in the way that you parent."
"There's a little bit of loss in that, but there's also something gained in that. You also just learn. It's made me let go and not focus so much on the bringing up," the mom of three added.
Jennifer is mom to daughters Violet, 20, and Seraphina, 17, as well as a son, Samuel, 13.
Ben Affleck abd Jennifer Garner parted ways after 10 years of marriage and finalized their divorce in 2018.
