Macaulay Culkin revealed his non-negotiable rules when it comes to interacting with fans
The Home Alone star made an appearance in the 29 December episode of the SmartLess podcast and opened up about being a child star and how he has been he is managing his stardom since then.
Host Sean Hayes asked him how he handles the public outings. Culkin shared that he has a set of rules.
“I definitely have to gird myself… for, you know, outings and so forth. I just set certain ground rules for myself,” he replied.
Culkin went on to say, “Don't approach me when I'm at the dinner table. I don't like that. You know? Don't approach me when I'm with my kids. Definitely don't follow me to the bathroom."
He further added, “I just realized that I'm in charge of the social contract,” said Culkin. “I'm in charge of the interaction.”
It is pertinent to mention that Culkin shares two kids, a four-year-old daughter Dakota, and a three-year-old son Carson, with his fiancée Brenda Song.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Culkin talked about how "difficult" it was to be a household name at a very young age.
“It was a difficult, tricky waters to maneuver through and stuff like that because you don't necessarily have the actual or emotional vocabulary to really kind of, you know, maneuver through those waters,” the actor recalled.
"And I always kinda thought of myself as a peerless person. Like, I couldn't turn left and right, like, know, like, and go, ‘Oh, you're like me.’ ... It was a it was a very unique experience,” he added.
