Billy Joel gushes over daughter Alexa Ray on her special day.
On Monday, December 29, the five-time Grammy winner took to his Instagram account to mark Alexa's 40th birthday.
In the celebratory post, the doting dad posted two sweet snaps with Alexa, in which the father-daughter duo can be seen hugging each other.
While expressing his love and well wishes to Alexa, Billy wrote in the caption, "Happy Birthday Alexa Ray Joel!"
In the snap Billy can be seen wearing a black shirt and a green baseball cap while Alexa donned a floral dress.
Alexa's sister, Sailor Brinkley Cook, also posted a sweet video of her enjoying her special day dancing and beaming smiles. Sailor captioned the video with
"Birthday girl" adding a heart emoji.
It is pertinent to mention that Billy shares Alexa with ex-wife Christie Brinkley.
In a previous chat back in August, Alexa talked about her parents' relationship after the release of the HBO documentary Billy Joel: And So It Goes.
She said, "I think the world was very enchanted by my parents when they were together. They were like the ultimate dream couple."
"Opposites attract. My mom being this beautiful model, and extrovert, and very sunny and outgoing. My dad is definitely more of an introvert, which I would say, I'm more introverted too," Alexa told the outlet at the time.
She added, "It was really, really beautiful and emotional for me to watch. I cried, my mom cried."
