Katie Holmes marks special day with memorable throwback photo
'Dawson's Creek' star expressed her gratitude to her family and friends for wishing her love
Katie Holmes is celebrating her special day with a nostalgic twist.
The Dawson's Creek alum took to her Instagram account on Thursday to mark her 47th birthday.
In the celebratory post, the actress shared a throwback snap from her childhood.
In the snap, little Holmes can be seen donning a white turtleneck under striped printed overalls with a red heart embroidery on the chest. She completed her look with shoulder-length bob hair.
Holmes expressed her gratitude to her family and friends for wishing her love on her big day.
"Thank you to my beautiful family and friends for the wonderful birthday wishes," she captioned.
She added with a heart emoji, "I am so grateful for this past year full of creativity, joy, and love. Thank you to all!"
It is pertinent to mention that Holmes is mom to daughter Suri, whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
The proud mom previously opened up about being an empty nester as daughter Suri is currently in her sophomore year of college at Carnegie Mellon University.
"I'm proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I'm really proud of her and I'm happy," Holmes told Town & Country in August 2024.
"I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It's exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that," she added at the time
