Will Smith 'praying' for THIS after he slapped Chris Rock
Will Smith is 'hell-bent on not screwing it up' as his career took a dip after slapping Chris Rock
Will Smith is reportedly getting ready to be back in the acting game with a new paramount deal.
According to Radar Online, the 57-year-old American actor and rapper’s career collapsed after he slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
For those unaware, Rock commented on Will’s wife Jada Pinkett’s shaved head, comparing it to Demi Moore’s dramatic look in the 1997 film G.I. Jane, which offended her.
The Bad Boys star liked it at first but when the 60-year-old American comedian and actor went too far in his jokes, he stood up from his seat, started walking towards the stage, and then did what no one ever imagined - that is he slapped.
Now, after a long break, he has now signed a lucrative deal with production giant Paramount, which will help his company Westbrook make big-budgeted films, reviving his lost spot in the entertainment world.
The insider told the outlet, "Will is delighted he's got this opportunity to redeem himself. It's the break he's been praying for and he's hell-bent on not screwing it up.”
"He's cracking the whip on everyone around him and if people aren't willing to match his intensity, they'll get their marching papers in no time,” the source noted. “Will is being absolutely ruthless and saying that's the only way this is going to work."
Notably, “Jada has a meaningful financial stake in Will's studio, it's becoming a one-man show in terms of its mission.”
The insider stated, "Make no mistake, the purpose of this company is to make blockbuster movies that star Will. Going forward, Will is looking for action comedies, thrillers and sci-fi spectacles – the kind of films that made him a superstar in the first place.”
"The whole ‘slap’ incident feels like ancient history, but Will is still pressuring everybody around him to impress Paramount's new owner, David Ellison, who's been a Will Smith fan since grade school.”
"David has made a huge bet on Will, and it's time for Will and his team to deliver. Failure is not an option,” concluded the source.
