Jamie Lee Curtis marks 41 years of marriage to Christopher Guest
The pair married on December 18, 1984, just six months after they began dating
Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest are celebrating 41 years of marriage with a quiet but meaningful tribute.
On Thursday, Curtis, 67, shared a simple Instagram post showing the couple’s shadows as they held hands, captioned only with the number “41” and a heart.
The pair married on December 18, 1984, just six months after they began dating. Ever since, Curtis has often recalled knowing Guest was the one almost instantly, before they had even met.
After meeting in person at a West Hollywood restaurant, Guest proposed within months, leading to a marriage Curtis has described as “wonderful, complicated, imperfect, and very real.”
Following struggles with infertility, Curtis and Guest became parents through adoption. They share two children, including Annie, born in 1986, and Ruby, adopted in 1996.
Both Curtis and Guest have been candid about marriage needing endurance. Curtis has repeatedly shared the same advice: don’t leave. “Stay on the bus,” she said. “The scenery will change.”
