Chris Hemsworth has reflected at the passion that first set him on the path to Hollywood stardom.
In a recent appearance on On Purpose with Jay Shetty, the Thor actor opened up about how his love for acting began at a young age, and how quickly it turned into an all-consuming goal.
“Once I locked into the idea that I was going to become an actor, it was an absolute obsession,” Hemsworth shared during the podcast.
Now, the 42-year-old Australian star has become one of the most recognizable and highest-paid actors in the world.
However, he admitted that, as a child, he had little understanding of how challenging that journey would actually be.
Acting, he explained, became a form of escape as much as it was a dream.
“There was no doubt that was what I was going to do,” he said, reflecting on his mindset at the time.
“There was a naivety about the reality of how difficult that was going to be.”
Despite the obstacles, Hemsworth acknowledged that his ambition served a deeper purpose during his early years.
“But I guess it was sort of an escapism,” he added as he noted how the dream gave him focus and direction long before fame became a reality.
