Jeremy Allen White reveals what’s holding him back from rom-coms
The actor revealed his favorite, classic rom-com's name
Jeremy Allen White opened up about starring in a romantic comedy movie and why he has not done one yet.
During a recent chat with Kate Hudson on Variety & CNN Actors on Actors recent interview, the singer and actress asked the 34-year-old actor if he would ever consider doing a rom-com.
In response, White said, "I’d love to. I’ve never done one before but they seem so fun."
Hudson replied that making the movies are “harder than you think."
White then explained the reason behind not landing a lead role in a love story.
“I worry about finding the right character, because I’d want it to be a classic rom-com,” he shared.
The Bear actor further noted that he is not fond of short-lived success, "Not a flash in the pan, but When Harry Met Sally."
Agreeing with White Hudson said the 1989 classic is “one of the greats.”
She went on to say, "It’s one of the hardest genres to get right. But it’s a game-changer for your life. You can’t imagine how many people you help feel good.”
Elsewhere in the conversation, Hudson, who is known for her infamous rom-com roles in movies like, How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Fool’s Gold, and many more, she opened up about her breakout role as Penny Lane in Almost Famous by Cameron Crowe
“I got the part when I was 19,” she told White. “It was a dream. I had already started writing music at 18 years old, but to have someone like Cameron be this wellspring of musical information? It blew my mind, and it blew my life open.”
