Vin Diesel confirms star footballer who will appear in final ‘Fast & Furious’
Diesel first confirmed in February 2024 that the upcoming installment would wrap up the long-running action saga
Vin Diesel is bringing soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo into the Fast & Furious universe.
The actor and producer, 58, made the announcement on Friday, anticipating Ronaldo's upcoming onscreen debut in Fast X: Part 2. The film marks the franchise’s 12th and final installment, slated for an April 2027 release.
“Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology… I gotta tell you he is a real one. We wrote a role for him…” Diesel wrote on Instagram alongside a photo with Ronaldo.
Diesel first confirmed in February 2024 that this installment would wrap up the long-running action saga.
“This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together,” he said.
The franchise began with the 2001 original starring Diesel and the late Paul Walker. Ever since, it has featured a rotating ensemble of stars, including Charlize Theron, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Momoa, Cardi B, John Cena, Jason Statham, Gal Gadot, Helen Mirren, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Bow Wow, Vanessa Kirby, and Alan Ritchson.
Earlier this year, Diesel revealed that production for the finale would return to Los Angeles, following the disruption caused by the January wildfires.
