Zooey Deschanel is excited about her friend Katy Perry’s relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The New Girl alum, 45, was asked about the development during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Fans asked the New Girl star, "What do you think about your friend Katy Perry hard launching her relationship with Justin Trudeau?"
She remarked, "I love it. I’m so in."
Deschanel is excited as her fiancé Jonathan Scott alos hails from Canada.
"I’m with a Canadian guy. She’s with a Canadian guy!" she gushed.
Katy and Trudeau’s relationship became public when they met the former Japanese prime minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, together in December. The meeting came amid Katy’s Japanese Lifetime Tour concerts.
Kishida, 68, took to Instagram and wrote, "Former Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau came to Japan with his partner Katy Perry and had lunch with us. During my time as Prime Minister, I met Prime Ministers many times, and when I visited Canada, we worked together to strengthen bilateral relations, including formulating the ‘Nikka Action Plan.’ I am glad that we are continuing this friendship."
Two days later, Katy made the relationship Instagram official with a photo dump from the trip.
"Tokyo times on tour and more," she captioned the carousel of images and videos.
