King Charles calls for peace in new message amid talk of Harry’s return
King Charles celebrates hope and peace at Westminster Abbey Advent service
King Charles has called for peace in a new message shared after the Advent Service at Westminster Abbey, amid growing hopes of Prince Harry’s return.
In a message shared on social media, the King spoke about the season of Advent as a time for reflection, hope, and preparing for the wonder of Christ’s birth.
He highlighted the challenges faced by persecuted Christians and praised community and faith leaders from across the UK and the Middle East for their work.
“It is a great joy to gather with you in the most glorious setting of Westminster Abbey as we celebrate the light, hope and, above all, the peace of this season of Advent,” the monarch penned.
“This period is one of preparation, of readying ourselves and looking forward to the wonder of Christ's birth.
“Today, we gather for prayer, reflection and music, and to celebrate the Good News in which all Christians rejoice: those around us, and those in areas where it is not easy to live out one's faith.
“I am so pleased to be joined by church leaders from across the UK and Middle East, leaders of other faiths, charity representatives, and so many of you who contribute to your communities in myriad ways.”
The statement comes amid reports that Prince Harry has won a review of decision over tax payer funded security woes.
The Duke of Sussex has reportedly got a chance to present his case to the Home Office again as new review allows him to qualify for police protection on visits to the UK.
It could mean Harry could bring his wife Meghan Markle, and kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the UK.
