Meghan Markle finally offers a statement over newest dress-gate scandal
Meghan Markle has finally given her stance after rumor mills started churning with accusations that she has stolen a dress
Amid rumors that Meghan Markle just upped and walked out with a dress in hand from one of her photoshoots, a spokesperson has finally come forward.
This spokesperson’s statement comes via RadarOnline and calls the whole thing “highly defamatory” to the Duchess of Sussex.
The $1,700 dress she has been accused of nabbing, is one from a Variety photoshoot, and started back when she was seen wearing something similar to it in a poster for her Christmas holiday special for With Love, Meghan.
According to her representative, “the insinuation that any items were taken without the full knowledge and agreement of the on-set stylists or their respective teams is not only categorically false, but also highly defamatory.”
Because “any items kept were done so in total transparency and in accordance with contractual arrangements.”
Furthermore they added, “individually and collectively, these statements assert that the Duchess committed theft or acted dishonestly. They are false, unsubstantiated, and have caused serious harm to her reputation.”
Also, in light of key words like ‘defamation’ being used, there are rumors that a legal suit might become a possibility in the near future, given how staffers and the like came forward to point towards ‘patterns’ of this behavior, when referring to the Duchess.
Plus, as an insider has said, many starlets do take items home, and is considered “commonplace and prudent” because the aim is to avoid the item being put on auction, and getting linked to their name, especially a former working royal, and the mother of a prince and princess.
