Palace shares Prince William's message as he continues Diana's work
Prince William on Tuesday visited the new offices of a charity in London
Prince William on Tuesday marked 20 years since taking over Centrepoint UK charity which aims to end youth homelessness.
Kensington Palace shared pictures of the Prince of Wales cutting a cake to celebrate the 20th anniversary of being the Patron of Centrepoint during his visit to the charity's new offices in London.
"Proud to mark 20 years as Patron of Centrepoint," said William in an Instagram post shared by the palace's communications team.
"Inspired by everything this charity is driving forward. From building the first Independent Living homes, with hundreds more in progress, to pushing for changes that will open doors for thousands of young people. Today’s visit is a reminder of real progress, and the determination to make lasting change for young people," William said in his statement which accompanied his photos.
Centrepoint is one of William's longest patronages, having taken over from Diana, Princess of Wales, who became patron in 1992.
According to the charity's website, "Centrepoint is the UK's leading youth homelessness charity."
It says, "Alongside our partners, we support over 15,000 young people every year and campaign to end youth homelessness by 2037."
