Jason Kelce reveals heartbreaking loss he, wife Kylie endured
Jason Kelce opened up about a tragic chapter before fatherhood
Jason Kelce is opening up about a devastating time in his and wife Kylie Kelce went through.
At the March of Dimes 43rd Sports Luncheon in New York, the former Philadelphia Eagles player recalled one of the tough moments he and the podcast host went through before they welcomed their four daughters.
Jason revealed that Kylie had suffered a pregnancy loss in 2018, noting, "I remember it just being absolutely devastating."
"Remember going out to my truck in the middle of practice and meetings, overcome with grief and emotion," he looked back at the emotional moment. "You really find out in moments like those how awesome sports are, how awesome teams are."
However, Jason's friends, coaches, teammates and other people around him shared their experiences of miscarriage, which made him realize how common the loss of pregnancy is.
"There were so many people that shared with me—coaches, teammates, people within the Eagles building, friends of ours—and you really find out how prevalent this actually is, how often miscarriages happen. And it's something a lot of times doesn't get said and spoken about," he continued.
And the support from his community helped him and his wife to recover from their loss.
"That was hugely impactful for us when we were going through that situation to realize that we were not alone in this," he added.
It is pertinent to mention that Jason and Kylie are now parents of four daughters: Wyatt, six, Elliotte, four, Bennett, two, and Finnley, 7 months.
