Sydney Sweeney’s hairstylist clashes with fashion critic
Sydney Sweeney’s hairstylist clashes over jab at actress' viral 'stiffest wig'
Sydney Sweeney’s hairstylist has fired back after fashion commentator Blakely Thornton mocked the star's recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
It began with Thornton accusing the look of channeling MAGA aesthetics and labeling her hair “the stiffest wig.” The critic added that Sweeney and her team were “committed to the bit.”
Thornton also compared her styling to “Effie Trinket’s lost niece” and claimed the team was doing it “on purpose.”
Hours later, he posted screenshots of a comment exchange with Sweeney’s hairstylist, Glen “Coco” Oropeza—an exchange that now appears to be deleted.
Oropeza allegedly corrected him, writing, “Wasn't a wig … you can’t get my girl’s name out of your mouth. You’re obsessed.” He followed with a sharper message defending the look and dismissed Thornton’s critique as “clickbait” and “TIRED.”
Thornton replied by calling Oropeza a “sycophant” and added, “Black people are tired … very much so … good luck on the rest of the press tour.”
Thornton has repeatedly criticised Sweeney’s styling choices and previously blasted her Bezos-attended birthday party, describing it as resembling “the third circle of hell.”
