King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Kate and more accompanied German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Ms Büdenbender to see historic objects from the royal collection trust.
In photos shared on Instagram, the group were seen chatting and marvelling over the historic objects. In the caption, each object on display was given a description.
The first of them being a "chivalric romance based on Emperor Maximilian I’s 1477 quest to marry Mary of Burgundy." Seen as an open book which the group stood around.
"Published in 1517 with 118 hand-painted woodcuts, it’s one of just 40 vellum copies created for his closest allies, and was later acquired by George III," added the description.
The net was a "chalk portrait of Lady Margaret Elyot by Hans Holbein" who’s considered one of the best artists of his time and made realistic portraits of important people in the court of King Henry VIII.
The third was a "nautilus cup was produced in Augsburg, the most renowned city for goldsmiths' work in the late 17th and 18th centuries." The cup was "purchased by George IV for his buffet display at Windsor."
Another highly valuable artifact displayed was a score from 1847, "written in Mendelssohn’s own hand," for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, who used to play the piano together.
A fifth was a watercolor painting showing a "Christmas table, topped with gifts and a tree, laid out" for Queen Victoria’s family.
During the state visit, the German President inspected the Guard of Honour with King Charles and then joined Queen and Ms. Büdenbender alongside Prince and Princess of Wales, to view the military Rank and March past.
