Prince William in Wales to attend 'Investment Summit'
Princess Catherine did not accompany Prince William to New Port in Wales
Prince William travelled hundreds of kilometers to Wales to attend a summit as part of his royal duties, according to a statement issued on Monday.
Pictures shared by the Prince of Wales's social media team show the future king was not accompanied by his wife, Kate Middleton.
A collage of photos was posted to Instagram stories of the Prince and Princess of Wales account with a brief statement that said, William was "Attending the Welsh Investment Summit and visiting KLA's semiconductor manufacturing facility in Newport."
The statement said, "The summit hosts delegates from nearly 30 different countries, representing sectors from clean energy to creative industries."
Newport is a city and county borough in Wales, approximately 12 miles northeast of Cardiff.
Since Princess Kate's cancer diagnosis last year, William often undertakes royal duties without his wife and children.
The Princess of Wales is occasionally seen performing royal duties since she completed her preventive chemotherapy in August 2024.
