Sarah Ferguson adjusts to life without Duchess of York title
Sarah Ferguson explores memoir, tell-all interview amid back-to-back setbacks
Sarah Ferguson faces tough and uncertain future as she faces the holiday season without her Duchess of York title.
Fergie lost her titles and home, the Royal Lodge, following her former husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s fall from grace due to their past ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
With orders to vacate the 30-room mansion, the former Duchess of York will need to secure a new home rather than joining him at the Sandringham estate in the New Year.
To add to it, Ferguson also suffered a professional setback with her latest children’s book pulled and charities severing ties.
Speaking on the matter, royal expert Jennie Bond observed that both Fergie and Andrew have a history of living beyond their means.
She suggested while speaking with The Mirror that it may now be time for them to lead quieter lives to avoid further embarrassment.
"As I have mentioned before, for some reason, Andrew and Fergie have been drawn to great riches like moths to a candle,” she said.
Bond continued, “Sarah in particular seems to have been totally incapable of living within her means ever since she married into the Royal Family. Part of her money problems stems from her generosity.
"She has always loved to shower people with extravagant gifts, perhaps because of her low self-esteem, she thought it was a way to make them like her."
She added, "As she said herself, she was always striving to be 'the pleaser'. But both Andrew and Fergie seem to be trapped in a never-ending cycle of chasing wealth, no matter who their quarry is or what morals they hold.
“Now, in their 60s and both in deep disgrace, surely the time has come for them to cut their cloth to suit the money they have, and to live a quiet life without causing further embarrassment to themselves and to the family at large.”
