Ariana Grande schools fans on remarks over other's appearances
Ariana Grande insists fans to not comment on others’ bodies
Ariana Grande is speaking out about the harm of commenting on other people’s appearances.
The 32-year-old singer shared clips from a 2024 interview on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, labeling them “Friendly Reminder.”
“I’ve been a specimen in a Petri dish since I was 16 or 17,” the Disney alum said, referring to the constant scrutiny she has faced since stardom.
Grande lamented that no matter what she does, what she wears, and how she looks, people always find something to criticise.
The Wicked star pointed out that making remarks about others’ bodies has become normalised, despite the real harm it can cause.
“Commenting on others’ looks, appearance, what we think is going on behind the scenes, or their health… that is uncomfortable and horrible,” she said.
Calling the behavior “dangerous,” Grande noted that she feels fortunate to have a strong support system and confidence in her own beauty.
“I just don’t invite it in anymore… I have work to do. I have a life to live. I have friends to love on. I have so much love,” she said.
She concluded by encouraging fans to protect themselves from negative commentary and to avoid letting the “noise” affect their lives.
