King Charles cancer closely monitored as historic US visit plans underway
King Charles US visit confirmed as negotiations between White House and London underway
King Charles will be making a historic visit to the US after hosting a second State Visit for US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania in September.
This will be the first time Charles will be visiting the country as the King and this will also mark the first time in nearly two decades that a British monarch has travelled to the States since the last one took place in 2007, under the reign of the late Queen Elizabeth.
Charles, who is undergoing cancer weekly treatments, will be accompanied by Queen Camilla in April 2026 to celebrate the country’s 250th birthday, according to The Sun on Sunday.
It is important to noted that while the monarch has been looking well in his recent outings, his health will be closely monitored in the weeks the lead up to the trip. The King’s health is given priority since there will be a number of engagements conducted during the visit.
The sources on both sides shared that plans are currently being negotiated for the much-anticipated trip since the US government is preparing to have a string of events to mark special anniversary.
Sources have dubbed this as a “major moment” to have the King and Queen in the lead up to the Independence Day celebration in July.
