Kelsea Ballerini, Chase Stokes Split Again: What Went Wrong?

Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stocks, who broke up in September 2025 after being together for three years, shortly reconcile yet, broke up again.

The news of their split confirmed after Stock hinted on Instagram that he and Ballerini had parted ways again.

In conversation with US Weekly, an insider reported that they had reconciled earlier this month after their initial September breakup.

It had been "so rocky and toxic," the source claimed. "It was too much for Kelsea." They noted that "jealousy definitely got in the way," and that Ballerini "had a lot of trust issues" with her ex.

The insider also added, that they went into their reconciliation with "a lot of expectations," however, their busy schedules, ultimately led to the relationship's end.

The tipster continued, "Chase really did try to make it work and [he] loves her. But [they] aren’t talking right now."

However, the admitted that there is always a "chance they could get back together, [but for now, they are] taking space."

Ballerini has yet to address the split publicly. Meanwhile, Stockes shared two Instagram stories with captions, "Don’t believe the media [who recently reported on his and Ballerini’s alleged reconciliation]. I'm blocked, I did nothing wrong. Sorry I tried."

The second one said, "I’m sorry for those who believed in us. It is what it is. Onwards and upwards."

Previously, when they first broke up, a source close to the couple told People, "They’re two adults who gave it their all and tried to do everything they could to make it work, but ultimately couldn’t. It happens."

The couple first met through social media in December 2022 and began dating in January 2023. They made their relationship public at 2023 CMT Music Awards.
