Pete Davidson recalls first date with Elsie Hewitt
Pete Davidson makes rare social media appearance with pregnant Elsie Hewitt
Pete Davidson is looking back at the moment he realized he and Elsie Hewitt were meant to be.
The couple, who went public in March 2024 and later announced they’re expecting their first child together, briefly returned to social media during a one-day takeover of Bumble’s Instagram Stories on Nov. 18.
There, they opened up about how quickly things clicked between them.
Elsie shared that she had a strong instinct from the very beginning. During their first dinner date, she told Pete, “Don't think I'm crazy, but I just know that you're going to be the father of my children."
Pete remembered feeling the same way, replying at the time, “I know.” With a laugh, Elsie pointed to her current pregnancy and said, “And look at us now!”
Pete also recalled another early moment that made him smile. Elsie tried to make their budding relationship fun with a unique suggestion.
“She goes, ‘I have a standing reservation at an escape room so we can go anytime,’” he joked, adding that his reaction was basically, “Oh, cool, dude.”
Now, with a baby on the way, the two are focused on the new memories they’ll soon make as parents.
Pete said they’re especially excited “to dress the baby up exactly like us.”
He has spoken openly about what kind of father he hopes to be, explaining during an August interview on The Breakfast Club that he’s looking forward to “being able to take care of something and show it the childhood I didn’t have.”
As he put it, “I assume you just try to give them what you didn’t have, and what you didn’t like, not do it.”
