Tyler, The Creator forced to postpone Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival
Grammy winner Tyler, The Creator launched the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in 2012
Tyler, The Creator was forced to postpone his Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival due to "torrential downpour" in Los Angeles.
The American rapper and singer, whose real name is Tyler Gregory Okonma, was set to visit the Dodger Stadium, but before he could, rain hit LA this weekend, prompting him to push back the scheduled two day event.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, November 14, the two time Grammy winner announced the new date in the wake of predictions of heavy rain across Southern California in the coming days.
Notably, much of Southern California is under a flood watch, with up to a month’s worth of rain expected in a single day.
“Due to the fact this storm became an atmospheric rain torrential downpour we had 2 choices – cancel or move to next weekend. We chose the latter,” the See You Again singer shared in a statement on social media.
The heavy downpours could trigger dangerous flash floods, particularly in burn-scarred areas of Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties affected by this year’s wildfires.
"We understand this is not ideal so we will offer refunds. For everyone else. We will see you next weekend," the Flower Boy singer added.
Created by the 34-year-old artist in 2012, this year the carnival will now take place on November 22-23.
The Camp Flog Gnaw lineup includes ASAP Rocky, Childish Gambino, Doechii, Earl Sweatshirt, GloRilla, 2 Chainz, T-Pain and more.
For the unversed, Tyler's Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival is marking its 11th year, following three years off during the Covid pandemic.
