Taylor Swift announces top five songs as music career highlight
Taylor Swift reveals five songs which represent her legacy
Taylor Swift picked out five songs from her discography which best represent her music, for the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the selection left some fans surprised.
The 35-year-old pop superstar is nominated for the Hall of Fame star 2026 induction, and according to the custom, she had to select five of her works before voting began.
The Fate of Ophelia hitmaker chose, All Too Well (10 Minute Version), Blank Space, Anti-Hero, Love Story, and The Last Great American Dynasty, among her lyrical masterpieces.
Swifties were divided on the selection, with some arguing for the better contenders from her discography, and others applauding the chosen ones.
One fan wrote on X, “if we’re talking STRICTLY songwriting a better line up would’ve been: exile, happiness, champagne problems, ivy, and the prophecy.”
While another pointed out, “How could she leave out Seven?!?!?,” and one joked, “perhaps she should have let me choose instead.”
Some Swifties listed, “OOTW or Style or Wildest Dreams,” and “Chloe, or Sam or Sophia or Marcus, and Tolerate it,” as better contenders. Whereas some voiced their disagreement about the “unfair” treatment of some albums, writing, “Nothing from evermore and TTPD?!”
However, one X user explained, “Honestly chose right. Chose a wide range of music, all of which have great story telling, or had a large cultural impact.”
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on June 11, 2026, in New York City, and the inductees will be announced after voting ends on December 4.
