Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has ended the last remaining tie to his former royal life.

The former Duke of York is closing Pitch@Palace Global, the commercial arm of his once high-profile start-up initiative, as new filings show the company will be wound up within the next year.

The move comes just days after King Charles III formally stripped his younger brother of his HRH style and the title of prince.

The official decree, published in The Gazette on November 3, stated: “THE KING has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm… to declare that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor shall no longer be entitled to hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute of ‘Royal Highness’ and the titular dignity of ‘Prince.’”

Another entry confirmed his removal from the Roll of Peerage as the Duke of York.

Pitch@Palace was founded in 2014 as a not-for-profit platform connecting investors with start-ups, later launching Pitch@Palace Global in 2017 as a commercial extension.

Once seen as Andrew’s main post-royal project, it fell apart after he stepped back from public duties in 2019, when sponsors and directors withdrew their support.

Recent accounts revealed the company’s assets had fallen to £12,247, down from £257,286 the previous year. The report stated, “The director has adopted the break-up basis of accounting… on the understanding that the company will be wound up within the next 12 months.”

Buckingham Palace confirmed on October 30 that the King had begun removing Andrew’s remaining privileges, adding, “These censures are deemed necessary… Their Majesties’ sympathies remain with the victims and survivors of all forms of abuse.”
