American singer and actress Hilary Duff drops her single after 10 years
Hilary Duff has recently shared rare insight into personal life in her new single, Mature.
On November 6, the singer and actress dropped her new song after 10 years, which is cowritten and produced by her husband Matthew Koma, on November alongside a music video.
The Younger actress discussed her comeback during an appearance on Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast on November 5.
“It was always going to happen,” remarked the 38-year-old.
Hilary continued, “There’s no way that that was not going to be a part of my story.”
Reflecting on her life in her late 30s, How I Met Your Father star revealed that she was “ready to fill in the blanks and share with people and connect with them on the level of now”.
“It’s taken a lot of twists and turns and ups and downs and all of those things, but I have this crazy connection with fans that I’ve known since I was nine, 10 years old, and I just want to connect with them again,” explained Hilary.
The actress noted, “We have gone through a lot of the same things – whether that’s complicated relationships, anxiety, raising kids, divorces, trying to find yourself in adulthood, family drama.”
Hilary opened up that she felt “safe enough and comfortable” in her own family to step outside and open that part of herself up again.
Elsewhere in the interview, the singer described her new song as “self-talking to my younger self about an experience that we had and being okay with it and having a little tongue-in-cheek moment with yourself and accepting your past and being good with where you landed”.
