Joe Alwyn goes viral on social media for new romance speculations

Joe Alwyn appears to have started a new chapter in his life after the end of his six-year-long relationship with Taylor Swift, but social media users are not having it.

The 34-year-old actor sparked romance rumours with filmmaker and actress Lorene Scafaria when the two were spotted leaving the Bridge Theatre together, after Alwyn’s performance.

The two looked like a couple to an eyewitness and the speculations ignited a debate on the internet.

Several X users slammed the couple for the age difference between Alwyn and Scafaria, 47, with one writing, “she’s like almost 50? maybe he found someone who doesn’t want to get married and have a family but will still pay his rent.”

While one wrote, “stop…. ngl, but why is this making me sad.”

An angry Swiftie wrote, “wish him nothing but agony. He treated her like a ragdoll. This narcissist found her at her lowest point — he was a nobody while she was a pop star with status and connections, and he leeched off her. He profited from the relationship, but when she left he lost all access.”

Another mocked the Conversations with Friends actor, writing, “Supposing it’s never gonna end up in marriage, a LONG happy relationship is a good wish.”

Some also argued that the couple have seemingly been together for a while at this point, and kept their relationship private, writing, “He’s been seen with her before like over a year ago,” and, “these are old news. hes been this woman for almost 2 years atp. i thought they had broken up even by now.”

Neither Alwyn nor Scafaria have addressed the rumours or the backlash about their newly disclosed relationship.
