Miss Universe 2025: Thai director reacts to Miss Mexico's viral claim
Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch exchanges heated argument with Thai director at Miss Universe 2025
Miss Universe 2025 just became the most controversial beauty pageant in the history due to a viral incident.
On Tuesday, the viral mishap took place during the sashing ceremony when Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch, after having a heated exchange with the chairman of the Miss Universe Thailand Host Committee and CEO of Miss Grand International, Nawat Itsaragrisil, walked out of the event.
Not only her, but the rest of the other Miss Universes also stormed out of the show behind Miss Mexico.
The 25-year-old Mexican model claimed that Nawat called her "dumb" during the sashing ceremony. Taking it to her Instagram, Fatima mentioned, “If something costs you your dignity, you need to walk away.”
After the viral mishap, Miss Universe Organization president Raúl Rocha Cantú said that Thai director’s role would be “restricted or eliminated entirely”
Following the decision the director went furious and stated that “We are the licence holder. Everything must run according to business operations. He posts first and asks questions later — that causes confusion among contestants.”
He addressed the matter while denying the claim that he called Fatima “dumb”.
As per Khaosaod English, Nawat has also now apologized to Miss Mexico, while admitting that he might have lost his temper during the event.
“Sometimes I lose control. If I made mistakes, I apologize to Miss Mexico. I may have been too angry, but I had no intention to diminish her.”
