Andrew ripped apart by 'SNL' comedian
Former Prince Andrew attacked at 'SNL' after losing titles
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor became a subject of mockery on Saturday Night Live after he was stripped of his royal titles.
SNL star Michael Che took a dig at the former prince during his “Weekend Update” segment in the show during the November 1 episode.
“Prince Andrew has been stripped of his royal title of ‘Prince’ due to his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein,” Che, 42, began, referring to the scandal that tainted Andrew’s reputation as a working royal.
The comedian could barely contain his laughter as he continued, “And Andrew says he can only become a prince again if he gets a kiss from a young princess,” joking about the allegations against Andrew about the se-ual assault of young women, along with Epstein.
King Charles ordered Andrew’s demotion on Thursday last week, and his honours, including Prince, Duke of York, Earl of Inverness, Baron Killyleagh and “His Royal Highness,” were revoked.
Andrew’s demotion also entailed evicting the royal lodge where he and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, had lived since 2008.
The ex-royal will be moving into a property in Sandringham estate, while Ferguson is expected to be making her own separate arrangements.
Andrew’s involvement with Epstein ignited new tension after one of his most prominent accusers, Virginia Giuffre’s memoir, Nobody’s Girl, was released in which she detailed harrowing claims against him.
