David Harbour reflects on regrets after Lily Allen cheating allegations
Lily Allen details the breakdown of her marriage to David Harbour in her new album 'West End Girl'
David Harbour is offering some insights on regret amid his divorce from Lily Allen after she accused him of cheating.
The Stranger Things star opens up about his career and personal life in a new interview with Esquire Spain published November 1, just two weeks after Allen dropped her explosive new album West End Girl with some scathing tracks about infidelity.
In his chat with Esquire, which took place back in September, Harbour reflected on the “pain, slip-ups and mistakes” that shaped him as he turned 50.
Asked if he’d change anything about his life so far, Harbour said, “That’s such a hard question – the question of regret, or something. I would change either everything or nothing.”
He explained, “You either accept your path completely and realise that even the pain and the slip-ups and the mistakes are all part of the journey, and that there's truth and growth, wisdom and deeper empathy and connection in all that.”
Harbour admitted that if he were to change anything, he’d “just make my life happy and silly” but acknowledged that would mean he “wasn’t an artist anymore,” which, he joked, “would suck.”
Looking ahead, he said there are people he wants to “love, be good to and nurture.”
The candid interview surfaced just as Allen’s West End Girl sparked fan frenzy with its unflinching look at their breakup. The 14-track record — written in just 10 days — details her heartbreak after discovering Harbour’s alleged three-year affair and multiple infidelities.
In her new song Madeline, Allen sings, “I can’t trust anything that comes out of his mouth,” while Tennis reportedly names the woman she confronted after finding a suspicious text.
Days later, Allen took a cheeky swipe at her ex by dressing up as “Madeline” (the Ludwig Bemelmans children’s book character) for Halloween.
