Sombr lands in embarrassing situation with Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco
Benny Blanco and Sombr get into an awkward exchange on live recording
Sombr planned a surprise call to Selena Gomez during his concert, but little did he know he would have to get through Benny Blanco to get to her.
The 20-year-old singer, who has a “Call Your Ex” segment during his concerts, put a spin on the game and told the audience, “I’m going to be calling my ex instead of you guys calling your ex,” as seen in the now-viral video on social media.
However, he ended up getting her husband, 37, on the call, and his playful tone quickly vanished.
“Hello? Selena?” the back to being friends hitmaker said on the phone, trying to get the Only Murders In the Building star, 33.
He then asked with an uncertain expression, “Who’s this? Is this Benny Blanco?”
The we never dated singer then tried introducing himself, saying, “I’m Sombr,” reiterating when the music producer seemingly couldn’t hear, adding that he was “trying to call your wife.”
What would’ve been an interesting prank call quickly turned hilariously embarrassing, and Sombr put the phone down.
As for Blanco, it might have been a funny story he later got to tell Gomez, whom he tied the knot with on September 27, in an intimate ceremony with their friends and family.
