Kelsea Ballerini talks about mental health journey in post-breakup update
Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes call it quits after nearly three years of dating
Kelsea Ballerini is prioritising her well-being following her recent breakup from actor Chase Stokes.
The Heartfirst singer, 32, offered fans a glimpse into her life post-split, sharing an Instagram carousel on October 28 that highlighted her focus on self-care and mental health.
In the photos, Ballerini was seen sharing a sweet moment with a fan during a live performance, decorating pumpkins with friends, taking a mirror selfie with a face mask on, enjoying a picnic in the park with her dog Dibs, and relaxing on a cozy couch.
She captioned the post, “Brought to you by hot dogs, porch painting, bed by 9pm, friendship, parks, Kenny Chesney, and lexapro.”
Lexapro, a prescription antidepressant used to treat depression and anxiety, subtly hinted at Ballerini’s ongoing commitment to caring for her mental health.
While she hasn’t publicly discussed depression or anxiety, Ballerini has been open about her experiences with therapy, sharing with People magazine earlier this year that “it’s been a game changer.”
She added, “There is still a stigma around talking about certain things, and the way that you take that stigma away is you create conversation.”
Since her split from Stokes in September after nearly three years together, Ballerini has kept her focus on healing and privacy.
Following the news of their breakup, she addressed online speculation with a firm message on TikTok: “CC: speculators, ‘sources,’ and hidden cameras outside the hair salon. Let us be. please.”
