Chris Evans welcomes first child with Alba Baptista after 2 years of marriage
The 'Captain America' star, 44, and the Portuguese actress, 28, began dating in 2021
Captain America is taking on his most challenging role yet: fatherhood.
Chris Evans and his wife Alba Baptista quietly welcomed their first child together over the weekend two years after tying the knot, TMZ reported on Tuesday. Their baby was born on Saturday, October 25, in Massachusetts, though the outlet didn’t share the name or sex of the newborn.
The news follows months of speculation that the couple was expecting, sparked when Baptista’s father, Luiz, commented on a fanpage’s Father’s Day post earlier this year. “Many thanks dear Chris. Your turn is coming!,” he wrote.
The Marvel star, 44, and the Portuguese actress, 28, tied the knot in a private ceremony in September 2023 after more than a year of dating. The new parents are just fresh off their 2nd wedding anniversary.
Despite their 16-year age gap, the pair share a strong bond and have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye. Hence, the recent happy news is a total surprise considering fans weren’t even aware they were expecting their first child.
However, Evans previously shared that becoming a dad was something he was looking forward to. “I hope so,” he told Access Hollywood in 2024. “The title of dad is an exciting one.”
In March last year, the couple made their red-carpet debut at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Los Angeles.
